Longhall
The longhall is the centre of the enclosure, it dominates the burh and everything revolves around it. It is a formidable structure, towering over all other structures in the burh. It is a great meadhall, akin to those famous in great epics like Beowulf and is indicative of a great man. It is built of oak with wattle and daub walls. Externally it is decorated with woodcarvings over the entranceway. Internally it is decorated with frescoes depicting the seasons.

This is the focal point of the vast majority of activity. Feasts are held here, combat takes place in its shadow.
Real Life
The longhall is the main structure on site. It has taken a decade to complete and work still continues on both the decoration and general maintenance. It is often a place for socialising within the society.
